We went over a lot of rules and good ways to play. Since I am using a stoplight for their behavior chart I thought a great way to introduce the difference between the colors was to play red light, green light (and yellow light). They really enjoyed this, and although the yard isn't big it didn't seem to deter their enthusiasm. I just switched back and forth.
My pre-k class is bug obsessed, Wednesday we observed a praying mantis as it crawled around and on Thursday they even found 2 worms!
